Greg McEwin is the founder and Managing Partner of 1031 Investment Real Estate. He specializes in Tax Mitigation Solutions for clients contemplating the disposition or sale of any significantly appreciated asset, primarily real estate, but his practice extends to all asset types such as the sale of businesses, partnerships, executive equity grants, public or private stocks, cryptocurrency, bonds, etc. He is also adept in real estate portfolio analytics, 1031 DST replacement property portfolio structuring and understanding complex tax mitigation transactions involving multi-Generational entities.

Having spent over 30 years in the investment industry, he was a Partner at Bastiat Capital LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor in Dallas, TX, served as the Director of Research Marketing for 11 years at the well-known Independent Investment Research firm, David W. Tice & Associates, LLC, and before entering the research side of the industry, Greg was a Registered Representative at firms Bear Stearns & Company, Bank of America Capital Markets, Paine Webber, Inc., and Rodeman Renshaw & Co.   

Greg graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in Economics and has previously held FINRA licenses, Series 7 & 65 and currently holds FINRA licenses Series 22 & 63, Utah commercial real estate licensure and is presently pursuing an investment tax designation. 

Outside of the office, Greg can be found in the mountains on his road or mountain bike, scouting the beautiful Salt Lake backcountry for pristine powder to ski or climbing a peak in the Wasatch Range.
